Unique Easter Baskets

Growing up Easter was always pretty standard in my household. We would decorate eggs and wake up to traditional colorful Easter Baskets full of candy and small gifts. As I got older one of the toughest parts was that I never knew what to do with the Easter Basket(s) I received. I felt bad throwing them away but I didn’t really have a use for them outside of Easter so one of the things I tried out this year was giving everyone a basket and gifts that they could use after Easter was over.

The grandparents were easy. For my father-in-law, we got him an ammo box that he can use in his shop that was personalized for his new role as Grandpa (or as he prefers to be called Appa) Link for Personalized Ammo Box. My mother-in-law got a cute handbag that said “Grandma Things” (Link for Grandma Things Bag) and my mom got a sweatshirt customized to say “Mimi” which is her grandma name as well as had our daughter’s name on the sleeve (Link to Mimi Sweatshirt). These were all found on different Etsy shops which I would highly recommend if you are looking for great personalized gift ideas and shops. Just a quick note, I did share the link to each of the Etsy shops I used but I am not currently get any kickbacks or monetary incentives for you using the links. I just want to make it easier for you to find the items in case you are interested and honestly these shops deserve some recognition. I loved all of the items I got this year!

For my daughter I went all out and instead of getting the usual Easter Basket I got her a personalized pink egg that says her name and has a cute bunny and bow on it (also another great Etsy find). The best part is that it fully closes so every year she will get to open it and be surprised even if we have to wait a little to open baskets. Since this year was her first Easter we should be able to use this for many years until she is old enough to want a more mature basket so I’m already plotting what I want to fill the egg with next year! My husband probably made out the best this Easter. He has been dying to get a grill so instead of buying him a bunch of small stuff that he doesn’t really want, his basket and gift was a new Blackstone Grill. I never thought about it before but Easter was the perfect time to get a grill since the weather is starting to turn so it has been nice to bust out and use on those sunny days and get some practice in before we hit full BBQ season. It definitely wasn’t a very traditional Easter gift but he sure has gotten a lot of use out of it and seems to like it which is ultimately what matters.

Overall I have to say this was such a fun Easter to plan since it was kind of a scavenger hunt to find gifts/baskets that everyone would be able to continue using. And the part that really fills my heart with happiness is that everyone really seemed to love their gifts since I have seen them use them on more than one occasion since Easter. My only word of caution is that if you are going to use online sites to buy gifts just make sure you give yourself plenty of time for the items to ship so you don’t run the risk of the gifts not showing up on time. Other than that just have fun with it – the options are limitless!

I think life is all about making special moments. Since having our little one this has become a little harder but it has also given me even more reason to go all out in parenting, date nights, self-care, and traveling the world with the people I love. I am always looking for new ideas on how to improve in all of these areas so I hope these posts will also serve as inspiration for you as you search for ways to make your own special moments.
